Academic Support
We are fortunate in the College to have 34 endowed scholarships and one endowed chair in teacher education. Through the Blackwell History Museum and the Milan One-Room Schoolhouse, we provide educational and outreach programs to the community. The Learning Center, Project PRIME, the Reading Clinic, the Office of Recruitment Services, and the Office of International Initiatives all provide valuable services to students and faculty. Continuing to support our academic mission is a high priority for the college. Addressing the following needs will allow us to continue building our reputation of excellence.
- Endowed Scholarships — to help attract and retain diverse and highly qualified students
- Endowed Chairs and Named Professorships — to attract and retain the very highest quality teaching staff
- Student and Staff Research Support — to connect students, faculty, and staff to real-world issues and enhance our status as a research university
- Project PRIME — to enhance recruitment and retention of high school minority students
- Urban Outreach — to provide additional student learning experiences in urban settings and to support the development of urban teachers
- Learning Center and the Office of Recruitment Services — to offer hands-on materials, tutoring, workshops, and other support for students
- Community Outreach — to continue development of initiatives such as the Blackwell Museum and the Milan One-Room Schoolhouse as community resources
