BASIS: Building Assessment Systems and Intervention Strategies for School Innovation

BASIS is a new series of professional development courses designed to provide training in assessment and evaluation of student performance, curriculum evaluation, and tiered intervention methods for use within the Response to Intervention (RtI) service provision model. This series of courses can also be applied to the Master of Science in Educational Research and Evaluation.

Specific learning includes:

  • Advanced knowledge in Response to Intervention (RtI) by discussing intervention strategies, quantifying interventions, and determining the optimal time for interventions.
  • Practice with the analysis of data to evaluate student, curricular, and intervention effectiveness.
  • Knowledge needed to implement appropriate assessments, interpret and use assessment data, and design effective interventions for general education classrooms.

or another approved course
ETR 587 Practicum in Educational Research and Evaluation (3 semester hours)
