Several discretionary grant programs exist to provide students, schools, and communities with opportunities to create socially beneficial programs. These federally funded initiatives help implement comprehensive plans of activities, programs, and services that focus on promoting healthy childhood development as well as preventing violence and drug/alcohol abuse.
