Recently Awarded Evaluation Projects

The Office of Research, Evaluation, and Policy Studies will evaluate the following funded grant project:

  • L.I.F.E. Support Inc. Academic Athletic Empowerment (AAEP) Mentoring Project - A project designed to help a group of high-risk adolescents in district 129 and 131 East in East and West Aurora Illinois raise their academic achievements, build life and social skills, and develop persistence, determination, and motivation for schooling through athletic endeavors. It is created in response to the needs of middle and high school student athletes in the East and West Aurora who are growing up in at risk neighborhood and are seeking ways to channel their energy towards something positive, rather than submitting to what is going on in their neighborhood, i.e. gangs, drugs, teen pregnancy, and violence.

Newly Commissioned Project

  • REPS initiated the formal review process by the Institute of Education Sciences (IES), USDOE, for CEDU to become a federally licensed access site for restricted-user datasets from the National Center Education Statistics (NCES), the primary federal entity for collecting and analyzing data related to education. CEDU would be the first and only college on the NIU campus to have such authorization.
