Data Analysis

Data analysis transforms information (textual and/or quantitative) with the aim of extracting useful information and facilitating conclusions. This process systematically applies statistical, textual, and logical techniques to describe, summarize, and compare data. The methodological approach to identify the nature of the data will be determined by the topic to be investigated. Depending on the type of data, data analysis can be:

• Qualitative (Textual) Analysis
  • Thematic Overlay is used to develop a theory on how different groups see or experience situations differently. It is based on the understanding that different groups or cultures have different views on the same situation.
  • Content analysis is a systematic analysis of narrative content to determine the objective or meaning of the communication. The text is coded and divided into categories on a variety of levels. The method enables the researcher to include large amounts of textual information, systematically identify its properties, and reduce the material.
  • Concept mapping is a structured process, focused on a topic or concept of interest, that produces a pictorial view of the ideas and concepts and how these are interrelated. Concept mapping helps manage complex topics without losing detail
