My scholarly interests are centered on invigorating the democratic civic identity of teachers through the use of classical philosophy, American pragmatism, and critical theory. My classroom pedagogy is both interdisciplinary and dialogical: one of my overriding aims is to help students recover the value of philosophy as an activity of mind vital to the recreation of their vocational identity as teachers.
