Participants Needed for Non-Medical Research Study to Explore
Accepting Being Poz: Integrating HIV Into Your Life

Researchers from the Department of Counseling, Adult and Higher Education at Northern Illinois University are currently recruiting participants for a research study to explore how individuals integrate HIV into their identity and daily lives. Participants are asked to complete only a 1-2 hour interview to discuss how you are making sense of being Poz. This website will provide you with the basic information about this study. Participants in this study will receive $30 for their time.

To be eligible for this study, participants must:

  • Be age 18 or older
  • Be HIV+ for at least 1 year
  • Diagnosed HIV+ after 1996 with access to HIV medications
  • Not have had an AIDS diagnosis

is being conducted by Dr. Lisa Baumgartner and Dr. Fran Giordano, of the Department of Counseling, Adult and Higher Education of Northern Illinois University. This study has been reviewed and approved by the NIU Institutional Review Board for Human Subjects Protections.
