Kenya Literacy Project

In an age of global awareness and interaction, the advantages of working collaboratively across cultures are increasingly evident. The Kenya Literacy Project represents a unique opportunity to expand knowledge of developmentally and culturally appropriate early childhood practices in another part of the world and to make a service contribution to members of a Kenyan village who have warmly invited the involvement and expertise of early childhood scholars from the U.S. Long-term, the project will lead to the development of a multi-year, multi-faceted research initiative that will inform the fields of comparative early childhood education and comparative family studies.
