Vera Chimbanda has been a K-12 school counselor for Chicago Public School in Illinois and clinical mental health counselor and has over twenty years of international teaching, counseling and supervision experience in three languages (English, Portuguese and Spanish). She also worked with children, college-age populations, adults, and seniors, both individually and in groups. Her clientele has been very diverse in such areas as income, race/ethnicity, sexual orientation, geographic location, and religion/spirituality. She also lived and worked in Brazil, South Africa, Angola, Mozambique, Nigeria, the Ivory Coast, Swaziland and currently in the United States. She has received specialized training in cognitive-behavioral approaches, solution-focused, crisis intervention and client-centered techniques.
