Cutting edge research only makes a difference if results are implemented. In the Department of Kinesiology and Physical Education (KNPE), we want our students to be involved in all stages of the research process – which includes idea generation, working with participants and disseminating findings.
Our research and outreach programs are woven together to accomplish these goals by immersing students in clinical experiences throughout their program of study so they can ask challenging questions to further a culture of wellness for individuals in our university community and beyond.
We take pride in collaborating with faculty and staff to improve their health. We lead local senior citizens through exercise programming to help them achieve their fitness goals. We address the needs of underprivileged youth through the use of sport and exercise for life skills development.
Together, we link the classroom, the laboratory and the real-world to provide an educational experience that enriches all.
