New Professional Development Series of Courses in Response to Intervention (RtI)
This professional development series of coursework is designed to provide training in assessment and evaluation of student performance, curriculum evaluation, and tiered intervention methods for use within the RtI service provision model.
Plans are underway for an online M.S. Ed. in Instructional Technology with Type 10 Certification (Advanced) as a Technology Specialist. We expect to begin Cohort 1.0 in Summer 2010 and be completed in Summer 2011. Students without an Illinois teacher certification (Type 03/09 etc.) are welcome to participate, but will require additional courses. Please email ITech@niu.edu to receive information as it becomes available later this Fall.
The Educational, Technology, Research and Assessment department is proud to announce the addition of two new faculty members, Dr. John Cowan and Dr. Seung Won Yoon.
Dr. Cowan and Dr. Yoon will be joining the instructional technology faculty beginning this Fall, and will have offices in the Gabel Hall 101 suite.

Educational Technology, Research and Assessment is working to expand the program to non-certified individuals, by offering an option to earn a M.S.Ed. in Instructional Technology as well as initial certification as a Library Information Specialist or a Technology Specialist. Please contact the department office for continuing details as we seek to add this option for our students.
