Fitness Assessment, Consulting and Technology (FACT)

FACT is a public outreach service of the Department of Kinesiology and Physical Education.

The mission of the FACT clinic is to provide fitness evaluation resources to the university community and the general public. Our services are designed to enhance the performance, fitness, health and quality of life of participants. FACT uses advanced testing equipment and cutting-edge software to provide clients with precise physical assessments.

Testing Services

Body Composition and Metabolic

  • Skinfolds
  • Circumference - Girths
  • Bioelectrical Impedance
  • Under-Water Weighing

Resting Metabolic Rate

  • Lactate Threshold (available with maximal Aerobic test with gas analysis)

Cardiovascular

  • Field Test (Step test, 1 mile walk, 6 min walk, 1.5 mile run)
  • Submax (cycle/treadmill)
  • Maximal Aerobic Test with gas analysis (cycle/run)
  • Heart Rate Variability: Overtraining analysis (features use of Firstbeat Bodyguard technology)

Muscoskeletal Testing

  • Field Tests (pushups, sit-ups, sit-n-reach, ROM)
  • Functional Movement Analysis
  • Submaximal Upper and Lower Body
  • HUMAC Isokinetic Testing

Power

  • Vertical Jump
  • Wingate Anaerobic Power Test

Packages

  • Healthy You (Blood pressure, skinfolds or BIA, circumference, CV field test, MS field test)
  • Healthy You Plus (Blood pressure, skinfolds or BIA, circumference, CV submax test, MS field test, functional movement analysis)
  • Health Can't "Weigh" (Blood pressure, skinfolds or BIA, circumference, UWW, RMR, CV submax test, MS field tests, functional movement analysis)
  • Athlete in Training (Blood pressure, skinfolds or BIA, circumference, UWW, RMR, functional movement analysis, maximal upper and lower body, vertical jump)
  • Endurance Athlete (Blood pressure, skinfolds, UWW, RMR, maximal aerobic test, lactate threshold)
  • Strength and Power Athlete (Blood pressure, skinfolds, UWW, MS field tests, maximal upper and lower body, vertical jump, Wingate test)

Location

We operate out of faculty offices AN 204 and AN 205 and the Human Performance and Neuro- Muscular Laboratories, all of which are in the Anderson Hall Second Floor Annex.
