Leadership, Educational Psychology and Foundations (LEPF)
As a philosopher of education, I am interested in reclaiming the enlightenment tradition in Western intellectual thought in order to revitalize both contemporary educational conditions as well as the formation of teacher identity. I believe that a large part of this project also involves the reclamation of the American radical democratic heritage; these related interests mean that, as far as my teaching is concerned, I regularly use the Socratic dialogs alongside the texts of Paulo Freire and John Dewey as resources to bring to life these traditions and critical perspectives.
