This list of site ideas does not imply each site is currently approved for counseling intern placement. Some of the sites may not have completed CAHE Department of Counseling Program re-approval documentation processes yet. M.S.Ed. counseling students are encouraged to contact cahc_internship@niu.edu to seek confirmation of site approvals or to request review of other sites not listed here. In general, if a prospective site is not a private or private group practice, it has the potential to be approved as a primary site placement. Check with the Field-Experience Coordinator to confirm via email to cahc_internship@niu.edu.
Prospective interns should prepare a cover letter, resume and unofficial transcripts before contacting a site for placement.
